Very interesting. or read our Welcome Guide to learn how to use this site. It assigns the APIPA ip and renewing the ip results in a timeout. I can see successful authentication, and DHCP shows nothing has been issued.

Is there a MAC filter on the router that filters out certain ranges? Once you fix your network problem (bad cable, reboot the router, etc.), if you want to get a good IP address from the DHCP server without rebooting your pc, do this: HOWEVERRRR, all I had to do was go to Internet Options/connections/LAN settings/ AND UNCLICK THE PROXY SERVER CHECK BOX! It seems to connect but doesn't pull a DHCP address.

It took me awhile to get my firewall and antivirus protection enabled after restoring the wireless connection, but I clicked on update, rebooted again, and it looks fine! That's what happened to me. Any ideas on how this could be resolved coz I find it rather bizarre that I am able to connect to other wireless networks without a hitch!!!
