How many DC/GC servers do you have?  How many read only DC do you have? That would be expected when on or off the network since it is available in the cache by the Folder Redirection policy. I would also add to this list have you checked the health of your DC's by running dcdiag and make sure they are replicating properly?

  • It has happened at off-peak times, and this server has relatively few people using it, compared to similarly configured servers that didn't have an issue.
  • Sometimes the shares reappear with a PC restart, other times they wait a little while and then reappear on their own.  I've also seemed to be able to get them back
  • The PCs are all running Windows 7. After spending several days looking into the problem and excluding everything 'Microsoft' I guessed it was Network related. I have tried to troubleshoot the issue but have not had any success so far, and I was hoping someone here may have some pointers to help resolve the problem.     are all fine. We have 3 DC's, two in one site and one in another.  All three are global catalog. My gut says that's going to tell you something. That usually fixes most DNS issues.
