i was freakin b/c my ipod did the same thing after i cleaned the gunk off it, but after i used a lister pack of benedryl, the click wheel worked....brilliant! These tips are pure ipod savers and should have been in the ipod manual. Spun the wheel, and it changed to Chinese..rofl.. Swabbed the crap out of everything with a alchohol swab. I bought a new computer recently.

Do you know what to do? It turns on but I can't select anything, turn up the volumn, or turn it off. As a result, even when it is on, i am unable to do anything as it doesn't respond. If you have a finger on the touch pad then it will not register any consequent input.
- Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
- I do so figuring this is what gives the commands from the wheel to the device.

- Take your sharp object (pin/needle/xatco/razor) and DRAG IT ALONG THE "CRACK" between the WHITE PLASTIC ... 2 Step 2: Cleaning up....This part is not too hard.
