Show this post So I bought a spare CD/DVD Superdrive from ebay for near £40 and fitted it into my MacBook Pro. I used the credit/business card trick on another mac for removing the stuck DVD inside.

Is there a way to get rid of the annoying spinning altogether, or minimise to a tolerable level? I don't think I still have the one that came with the mbp. This thread recommends buying an aerosol of compressed air from an electronics wholesaler and using a fine nozzle blast your superdrive clean. loukashI don't think it pays for me trying to fix things myself. If so, how is your other Mac or PC connected? Do they really come with those?
