It certainly is digital as it is delivered to your living room, and a conversion to analog is both absolutely necessary and typically not problematic.Now all bets are off (mostly) if No sound on all channels, but still have video. It has discrete coaxial inputs for providing lossless audio from other capable (decoded) sources, but that is not relative to the issue at hand.
