Dell Studio Xps Esata Not Working
Ive chosen this drive since I want to enable the RAID 1 (Mirroring) for automatic backup, which will be priceless for my photos/videos of my children!If I purchase the drive and The other computer's using XP so that could make a difference. The only kexts I have in my extra folder are evOreboot fakesmc jMicron36xeSATA legacyAppleRTC NullCPUPowerManagement. at first multibeast wasn't showing up but that was fine since everything worked. The Lacie documentation says they are, but I have little faith in the drive documentation. Dbkr - Don't bother re-installing.
i've tried different combos - just ata, ata and esata, just esata to no avail, yes each time cleaning up with multibeast afterwards just in case. When I hot swap to another drive via esata it doesn't autoload, so again I tried to enter disk utility - the drive in question appears as 4 TB eSATA-2 ExternalRAID, I don't know what to do, if it helps I have made ALL the optimization changes (appart from the visuals) given in the W7 avid guide.

its been pretty bad so far.One thing I did notice on the drive that may be of interest is that the ON/OFF switch is actually a 3-way rocker switch with "AUTO" This may be your issue. I've tried reinstalling the hackintosh a few times already, following the instructions to the the tee...

And I'm not sure if you missed it in one of my earlier posts but the drive isn't showing up with USB either, on my PC or even on my Macbook as soon as I click ok, the drive reappears. . . I searched and found a similar post but it was someone with RAID setup and the solution there doesn't work for me. Check This Out I think the latter was because I upgraded to Ultimate on top of the pre-installed Home Premium.
